Friday 17th July saw Norfolk Ladies Vets welcomed at Bawburgh Golf Club for the Greensomes Competition. A great field of 88 ladies took part from a two tee start and the weather for once was kind. Players came from 18 different clubs which is fantastic. The players certainly took advantage of the amount of run and lots of really good scores were recorded, in total 15 teams scored 40 points or more, what a great result. Many thanks go to Bawburgh Rep Ros Foster who arranged starters for me, Chris Ingram the pro who very kindly produced the cards and lastly Lynda love our President who did the raffle for me. I am very grateful as with enough help events go smoothly. Results are as follows: 1st Deborah Bleasby and Elaine Carter from Royal Cromer with 47 points (ocb) 2nd Janet Goode and Anne Ellis from Hunstanton with 47 points 3rd Mary Tuddenham and Fran Johnson from Bawburgh with 46 points 4th Chris Rayfield from Mundesley and Susan Tuck from Bawburgh with 45 points 5th Maureen McRae and Gill Hodgson from Royal Cromer with 43 points Nearest the Pin under 22 WHI - 16th- Chris Rayfield Mundesley Nearest the Pin over 22.1 WHI - Deborah Bleasby Royal Cromer Commiserations but also congratulations to the pair who scored 42, the two pairs scoring 41 and the seven pairs scoring 40 so near yet so far. A lovely day was had by all whatever the scores. Hope to see you all in competitions later in the year. Jill Bullimore - Competition Secretary

Our second match of the season was played at Rookery Park Golf Club against Suffolk Seniors. Despite the amber warning for heat, there was a welcome cool breeze at Rookery Park. The course was presented in good condition with lots of grass on the fairways but the bounces were interesting and the greens tricky. The matches were close but Suffolk were too strong for us on the day and we lost the match 4/0. We thanked Suffolk for their hospitality and the light salad after the match. Badges were presented to Sarah Watts and Kym Lofthouse. Anne Sibley Match Captain

This was our first match of 2026 and my first as match captain. After the recent spell of hot weather, the fairways had inevitably suffered from lack of rain so we were grateful to be on preferred lies. Matches are played off scratch and we played three matches of 4bbb and one match where Cambs & Hunt’s match captain played a betterball against one of our pairs, as unfortunately they could only field 7 players on the day. The catering staff were congratulated for a superb summer buffet and thanks sent to the Administration staff for ensuring that everything ran smoothly. We won the match 2.5 to 1.5 - a great start to our 2026 season and huge thanks go to all the players who all appeared to thoroughly enjoy the day. Anne Sibley Match Captain
Autumn Greensome held at Heacham Manor Golf Club on 17th October 2023

Competitions Secretary, Angie Allsopp, reported that 60 ladies played in this event. It was a breezy day but the sunshine made the round very enjoyable for everyone. We were very well looked after by all the staff at Heacham Manor. The course particularly was in very good condition, and my thanks must go to Chris Wooley, Lady Captain, who helped me all day on the desk. We raised just over £200 on the raffle.
