2026 - Competition Results
Friday 17th July saw Norfolk Ladies Vets welcomed at Bawburgh Golf Club for the Greensomes Competition. A great field of 88 ladies took part from a two tee start and the weather for once was kind. Players came from 18 different clubs which is fantastic. The players certainly took advantage of the amount of run and lots of really good scores were recorded, in total 15 teams scored 40 points or more, what a great result. Many thanks go to Bawburgh Rep Ros Foster who arranged starters for me, Chris Ingram the pro who very kindly produced the cards and lastly Lynda love our President who did the raffle for me. I am very grateful as with enough help events go smoothly. Results are as follows: 1st Deborah Bleasby and Elaine Carter from Royal Cromer with 47 points (ocb) 2nd Janet Goode and Anne Ellis from Hunstanton with 47 points 3rd Mary Tuddenham and Fran Johnson from Bawburgh with 46 points 4th Chris Rayfield from Mundesley and Susan Tuck from Bawburgh with 45 points 5th Maureen McRae and Gill Hodgson from Royal Cromer with 43 points Nearest the Pin under 22 WHI - 16th- Chris Rayfield Mundesley Nearest the Pin over 22.1 WHI - Deborah Bleasby Royal Cromer Commiserations but also congratulations to the pair who scored 42, the two pairs scoring 41 and the seven pairs scoring 40 so near yet so far. Tuesday 19th May saw the Norfolk Ladies Vets welcomed by Mattishall Golf Club for the High Handicap Waltz event. It was disappointing that there were only six teams entered but those that did had a good time. The weather held, no rain and the sun did make an appearance. Mattishall staff were very accommodating and helped in every way. Particular thanks to Jane Ladies Captain and her Vice you were fantastic. Teams did comment that the course played tough especially with the Par 6 hole! Runners up with 69 points were Gerri Williams, Sheila Glenn, Val Miller and Penny Mead from Bawburgh and just pipping them with 70 points were Hazel O’Neill, Denise Wilson, Sandy Byrne and Liz Allport from Sprowston. Everyone enjoyed and was very ready for the Jacket Potato with various fillings with salad. Well done Ladies. Jill Bullimore - Competition Secretary
We welcomed 100 ladies from 15 different Norfolk Golf Clubs and for the first time in my experience we were offered a three tee start! Heacham Manor staff and members were extremely helpful from the early organisation to the day itself. They provided four starters, one for each tee and a shepherd to make sure everyone found their starting tee. Also two ladies from the club took over the raffle for me, Many thanks to all of you. Very generously the club also added a 4ball voucher to the raffle. The day started a little bit showery and the sun did emerge as the day progressed. The wind however was a real factor, so strong and really cold. The ladies taking part were very stoic and layered up, making the best of the conditions. On finishing we partook of a really nice meal which was much appreciated. Congratulations to the pair coming out on top and worthy winners with 43 points were Tracy Russell and Maggie Ward from Ryston Park. Very well done to all, the scores were good despite the conditions. Comisserations must go to the five pairs who scored 40 points so close but tooo far!! Maybe next time.
